Keep Your HVAC System Running Right

Seasonal tune-ups that prevent breakdowns, lower energy bills, and extend the life of your equipment

Seasonal Tune-Ups for Dickson County Homes and Businesses

Most HVAC breakdowns start as small problems that go unnoticed. A dirty filter restricting airflow. A worn capacitor about to fail. A slow refrigerant leak that gets worse each month. A seasonal tune-up catches these issues early, before they turn into an expensive emergency on the hottest or coldest day of the year.

At Quick Flow HVAC, we provide spring AC tune-ups and fall furnace tune-ups for residential and commercial customers throughout Dickson County, Humphreys County, and Hickman County. Each visit includes a full system inspection, cleaning, and performance check. Something as simple as replacing a dirty air filter can reduce your system’s energy use by 5 to 15%.

We are currently offering a $75 Spring AC Tune-Up that includes a full inspection. If you want year-round coverage with repair discounts and priority scheduling, our maintenance plans start at $120 per year.

Signs Your HVAC System Needs a Tune-Up

Higher Energy Bills Without a Clear Reason

If your bills are climbing but your usage has not changed, your system may be working harder than it should. Dirty coils, low refrigerant, or a clogged filter all force the system to use more energy to produce the same results.

Uneven Temperatures Between Rooms

Some rooms are too hot while others are too cold, which usually points to airflow problems. A tune-up checks duct connections, blower performance, and filter condition to identify what is restricting airflow.

System Running Longer Than Usual

If your AC or furnace runs for extended periods without reaching the set temperature, something is reducing its output. Common causes include dirty coils, low refrigerant, or a thermostat calibration issue.

Strange Noises When the System Cycles

Rattling, buzzing, or clicking when the system starts up or shuts down can indicate loose parts, a failing motor, or worn bearings. A tune-up identifies the source before a small noise becomes a major repair.

It Has Been Over a Year Since the Last Service

We recommend two tune-ups per year: one in the spring for your cooling system and one in the fall for your heating system. If it has been more than 12 months since a professional looked at your equipment, it is time to schedule a visit.

System Is Over 10 Years Old

Older systems lose efficiency as parts wear. Annual tune-ups help an aging system perform closer to its original capacity and help you plan for replacement before a complete failure.

Types of Tune-Ups We Offer

Spring AC Tune-Up

Prepares your cooling system for Middle Tennessee's summer heat. We clean condenser and evaporator coils, check refrigerant levels, inspect electrical connections, test thermostat calibration, clear drain lines, and verify system operation. Currently $75 with inspection included.

Fall Furnace Tune-Up

Gets your heating system ready before cold weather arrives. We inspect the heat exchanger for cracks, clean burners or check heat strips, test ignition and safety controls, check gas connections if applicable, inspect flue and venting, and verify system operation.

Heat Pump Tune-Up

Heat pumps need service in both seasons since they handle heating and cooling. We check refrigerant charge, inspect the reversing valve, clean both indoor and outdoor coils, test defrost controls, and verify the system switches between modes correctly.

Commercial HVAC Tune-Up

We service commercial heating and cooling systems, including rooftop units, split systems, and packaged equipment. Commercial tune-ups include the same thorough inspection plus additional checks for commercial-grade controls and safety systems.

Benefits of Regular HVAC Tune-Ups

Prevent Unexpected Breakdowns

Most emergency calls we handle involve a problem that could have been caught during a routine inspection. A worn capacitor, a corroded wire, a cracked heat exchanger. Catching these early saves you the cost and stress of an unplanned failure.

Lower Your Monthly Energy Bills

A system that has not been serviced uses more energy to produce the same output. Dirty coils, restricted airflow, and low refrigerant all drive costs up. Heating and cooling account for roughly 43% of the average home’s utility bill, so even small efficiency gains add up.

Extend the Life of Your Equipment

Most HVAC systems last 12 to 18 years with regular maintenance. Systems that go without service tend to wear out faster. Annual tune-ups keep components clean, lubricated, and working within their designed parameters.

Protect Your Warranty

Many manufacturer warranties require proof of regular professional maintenance. Skipping annual service can void your warranty coverage, leaving you responsible for the full cost of repairs or replacement on a system that should still be covered.

Keep Your Family Safe

A fall furnace tune-up includes a heat exchanger inspection, which checks for cracks that can allow carbon monoxide into your home. This is one of the most important safety checks you can schedule for your household.

What a Precision Tune-Up Includes

Every tune-up from Quick Flow HVAC is a complete system inspection, not a quick visual check. Our technicians go through a detailed checklist that covers electrical, mechanical, and safety components. Here is what you can expect during a typical visit:

We start by inspecting electrical connections, tightening terminals, and checking voltage and amperage on motors. We clean the evaporator and condenser coils (cooling) or inspect the heat exchanger and burners (heating). We check refrigerant levels on cooling systems and test ignition and safety controls on heating systems. We inspect and clear condensate drain lines, test thermostat calibration and operation, evaluate airflow at supply and return vents, check ductwork connections for visible leaks, and run the full system through a complete heating or cooling cycle to verify performance.

If we find a problem, we explain what it is, what it means, and what your options are. We do not push unnecessary repairs. If something can safely wait, we will tell you.

Not sure if you need a replacement? We can diagnose the problem first. If repair makes sense, we will fix it. If replacement is the better option, we will explain why.

Replacing your AC at the same time as your furnace or heat pump is often the most cost-effective approach, especially if both systems are aging.

A new AC system performs best in a well-insulated home. Adding attic insulation alongside your installation ensures you get the full efficiency your new equipment is designed to deliver.

A smart thermostat paired with a new AC system gives you precise control and energy savings from day one. We install Google Nest, Ecobee, and Honeywell Pro Series.

How often should I have my HVAC system serviced?

We recommend twice per year. A cooling tune-up in the spring and a heating tune-up in the fall. This keeps both systems inspected before the season they work the hardest.

Most residential AC installations are completed in one day. This includes removing the old system, installing the new equipment, running refrigerant and electrical connections, and testing the full system.

A tune-up is a single service visit. A maintenance plan is an annual agreement that includes scheduled tune-ups plus additional benefits like priority scheduling, repair discounts (10 to 20% depending on plan), and after-hours coverage. The tune-up is the service. The plan is the ongoing coverage.

Most residential tune-ups take 45 minutes to one hour. If we find an issue that needs attention, we will explain it and provide a quote before doing any additional work.

In most cases, yes. Cleaning coils, replacing filters, checking refrigerant levels, and tightening electrical connections all help your system run more efficiently. The savings vary depending on the condition of the system, but most homeowners see a noticeable difference.

It significantly reduces the risk. Tune-ups catch worn parts, electrical issues, and performance problems early. While no service can prevent every failure, regular maintenance is the best way to avoid unexpected breakdowns.
